A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, Ed is an experienced attorney committed to advocating on behalf of children and families. With a deep understanding of federal and state education laws, Ed provides strategic and thoughtful counsel to ensure that each child receives an appropriate education.

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Susan J. Deedy & Associates, Ed served in New York City as a state-certified Impartial Hearing Officer, an administrative judge responsible for issuing Decisions in special education complaints. In more than three years, Ed adjudicated hundreds of special education complaints, and developed a reputation for issuing fair, timely, and thoughtful Decisions. He remains certified as an Impartial Hearing Officer in New York State.

Ed also spent years as an attorney representing parents in special education cases, working for both private firms and nonprofit organizations in New York City. Before entering the field of special education, he litigated child abuse and child neglect cases in the Bronx, Staten Island, and Manhattan family courts.

Outside of work, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and two rescue cats. He is a fan of the Mets and likes to travel.
